At the blog are three test games played between Rome and Carthage. DBA 3.0 allow the use of allied contingents (three elements) and these were employed during game three.

Rome's final tests against Seleucid will be posted at the end of the week.

Would there be any point in deploying in 3 battle lines as the Romans did historically, in DBA?

VVV reply,

Playing the big battle option (36 elements) I have deployed in three lines. The deployment was also recently used in my Spanish campaign when the terrain was constricted.

Then too, much depends on the composition of the enemy forces, if highly mobile troops a second and third line would prove useful to repel flank attempts.

The relief works well with velites (Ps) recoiling back through waiting hastati or principes (4Bd).

And so I suppose the hastati and principes recoil back through the line behind? But you can also do the same with Imperial legionaries (remembering that the 3-line organisation was not just a Republican thing). But what is the point as in DBx a unit/base is either alive or dead, no damage suffered.
