Have a nice day, everyone! My brother in law is still in the hospital due to his weak situation. He has been more than two weeks in the hospital, as the Doctor advised because he was so weak. For the last two days we were sad because he was vomiting a lot and cannot even eat, and they had to put a hose in his nose down to his stomach. Fortunately, today he is quite improved, and can eat rice porridge and some fruit. As he stayed in the hospital, his bill got higher. We asked help from different charities here, and thank God, they helped us with the hospital bills (we have already paid the doctor's bill, with help from TMP). Our only problem now is the rest of the hospital bill. I am asking help again so my brother-in-law can leave the hospital. gofundme.com/2ggmryws Again, thank you so much! |

Did Pepe self delete or was it done "for" him? He asked an honest question. (Admittedly, his profile is very new, but not sure if that has a bearing on this or not). |

"Pepe" was Legartija Mike… …and he did self-delete, actually. |

He asked an honest question. Let me tell you a story… I wasn't there, but my wife was. My Filipino father-in-law was in the hospital in the Philippines when he passed away. The hospital 'asked' my niece to remain in the hospital until the hospital bill was paid. Once the money was paid (which took a few days, as several of the relatives were overseas), they released my niece… and the body. I've heard that this is technically illegal there, but it happens anyway. I know it must be hard to run a hospital in the Third World, so maybe this is how it has to be done there. |

Bill, it happens more often than you'd think. A somewhat similar story in Thailand. My Thai wife had our second daughter but had to stay in hospital three extra days (and they charged for room and board at hotel rates) until I flew back from work and paid the hospital bills in cash. Again, you'd have thought it was illegal, but the hospital wouldn't accept plastic due to some sort of hassle with their own bank and they wouldn't accept the paperwork from the Thai insurance company. Apparently getting that money from an Insurance company took about 8 weeks from processing to payment and they needed cash to pay bills. It's become a family story about how Amanda was held for ransom by a group of nurses… |

Gwen, if I were rich I would simply take care of the whole thing for you. Unfortunately I am quite without much money to speak of for the forseeable future. |

Unfortunately I am quite without much money to speak of for the forseeable future. You would if you could, and that's what counts. We're 75% of the way to the revised goal now, so I think everything will be OK for now. |
