Hey guys, I just wanted to update you all on some progress made since the last time I posted.

The Perathians are a race proud race of warrior-philosophers, from a world discovered during The Second Incursion by campaigning armies of The League. Disgraceful treatment by the civilized forces of the galactic community quickly escalated into Perathian involvement in the conflict and further resistance post war.

There are currently two WiPs, the miniatures are finished though… I just don't have those pictures, since I'm posting from work.

The Perathians are allied with the Skaugran, the Vedic and the forthcoming Huasca and will be available for use in that faction… As the line grows, there should be more than enough figures for them to be fielded on their own with little difficulty.

The way I envision them working on the table top is as a horde force, due to their fragile bodies making them vulnerable to injuries that would make them immobile.

Each soldier in the Perathian army is responsible for crafting their own armor, which will make them fairly diverse in appearance… It's one of the few ways to make gas bags stand out as individuals on the table top.

This is a picture of one of them in an earlier stage of development.

Here's some concept sketches to illustrate that.

Their weapons range from directed energy weapons, such as lasers and particle accelerators, to plasma throwers and javelins.

Two miniatures in this line up are finished and ready to be sent to the caster once convention season is over… So, what do you guys think?

The sculpts and sketches were done by Peder Bartholdy. Initial conceptualization was done by Josh Smillie (Me).

ooh… not-Huragok!

Balthazar Marduk09 Aug 2016 1:22 p.m. PST

You know what, bro… I ripped off a lot of sources for this, but I didn't even know what a Huragok was until now.

Well, whatever the inspiration, they've positioned themselves straight at the top of my 'must-buy' list.

How big are they?

Balthazar Marduk09 Aug 2016 1:44 p.m. PST

They're about 28mm from tentacle tip to spire. I don't imagine having a website up in the near future, since I want to build up a stockpile in order to have regular releases with few down periods… But I'll totally sell them on an individual basis once they're cast and shipped to me.

It's convention season, so Nick over at Fortress Figures is going to be busy for a bit, but I think I can have them available in late September or October.

Okay mate, put me down for one of each sculpt and contact me when they become available…

My email is my TMP member name (at) me (dot) com.

Nice. I will be buying some.

nvdoyle09 Aug 2016 2:40 p.m. PST

Yep, have to have those.

altfritz09 Aug 2016 2:51 p.m. PST

+1! Please post again when available.

Balthazar Marduk09 Aug 2016 2:55 p.m. PST

If you guys PM me your emails, I'll add you to a list and update you when they're ready. There's a few other miniatures either cast already or going in with these figures, so if you're interested I can post pictures of them too.

I'm retailing them at $2.50 USD each and they're grouped at two to three figures each. You guys might be different, but usually I only order enough stuff from a website if it's going to be as much or more than the cost of shipping.

Terrement, that's the plan. The guy with the gun thing is a specialist of sorts.

EDIT:
Here are some links to other threads I posted… Not all of the miniatures that I have are in these, but it's most of them.

An alien that doesn't look like a man with just a different head. Well done.

Very nice and I'd say affordable for the local folks -- not so much for those of us who have to pay p&p from US and very possibly customs and VAT on top. Still, will have to make an effort to order a few if the total price per mini doesn't get quite exorbitant.

Balthazar Marduk10 Aug 2016 6:28 a.m. PST

I can't help local tax codes and regulations, but I would say that these are going to be so well priced to compete with others that I will have a tough go of making my money back.

Can you make theme in 1/72? 20mm?

Balthazar Marduk10 Aug 2016 9:42 a.m. PST

I'd love to be able to accommodate more scales, but for the time being I have to focus my resources on fleshing out the 28mm line. Sorry bro.

nvdoyle10 Aug 2016 8:04 p.m. PST

Email sent, and don't price yourself out of business. The rest of the line looks superb as well.

I'm also thinking that a tentacled gasbag is rather scale-independent, esp. between 28mm and 20mm.

Balthazar Marduk10 Aug 2016 11:33 p.m. PST

I'll tell you what… I'll sell it to you guys at that rate and when it comes time for a Web domain and a half hearted attempt at appearing professional, I may raise the price modestly… Maybe.

I've shipped the sculpts to the caster. It took time for me to build up the courage since it was looking like Canada Post was going to go on strike and I was scared of having the sculpts get stuck en route. Now that the threat has largely passed, it's just a matter of time before the production molds are ready. My most conservative estimate for completion is December, but it certainly can be done much sooner.
