Here's a Sneak Peek at the upcoming NUTS Big Battles that work with any figures based any way.

Coolness! Looking forward to it!

Could you confirm what size of game this is aimed at, please. A reinforced Company per side? or will it do Battalion each sized engagements?

Cheers

Nick

Nick B –

NUTS! – Big Battles is a set of combat rules where players can command from a Platoon to a Battalion as their familiarity with the rules grows. One stand of Infantry represents one Squad while each model represents a section of Vehicles or Support Weapons.

It truly depends on the player's familiarity with the rules.

What time frame for the release?

Hi Dale,
Trying for this month.

I read your walk through. And it appears that one vehicle is equal to 2 tanks? I think it said a vehicle is a "section of vehicles" or something similar.

Nevermind. I found it. 1 tank unit on table = 2 tanks. Not my style but i wish you luck with the rules.

Has anyone played this yet?

Iīve played it. The mechanics are similar to Nuts! although much more simplified and that leads to some odd situations.

The organization of the companies is a bit strange, with support weapons unable to act on their own (they must be attached to platoons in order to act). You canīt have MG or mortar companies as the rules wonīt work with them as sepparate units.

Stats for infantry units are generic, there are no great differences between armies. A squad is a squad. There is a mention of soviet SMG platoons but there are no different stats for them.

Iīve played a couple of solo scenarios and find very odd situations, like revealing PEF as enemy squads that, because they are a single stand, they canīt really inflict any damage on you.

Once a platoon takes casualties, their firepower lowers to a point they canīt hit anything no matter the dice results. Itīs very strange, maybe the firing table needs some reworking.

I love Nuts! rules but I think BB itīs a too basic set of rules that have a great potential but needs much more development. It is a good starting point. I would love to see further versions of BB.
