A quarter or so of these plastic hoplites have some sort of shoulder pad, joined at the clavicle to the fig's muscle breastplate. I haven't seen this elsewhere.

If I'm painting that breastplate bronze, should I assume that this is a bronze spaulder or armor piece, or that it is a piece of leather or linen/linothorax material?

It's bronze on the box's front cover, rightmost hoplite.
