Hi all!
I am finally getting around to uploading all my photos from my Monty's Epsom Final Effort game that I ran at Historicon last month. I hope you enjoy them!
The Germans lay down a pretty effective mortar barrage on the first turn. A number of units are pinned.
A view of the buildings the Germans were holding. The red markers indicate units that have been activated already.
A view of the entire table. The Brits entered on the near table edge. The objectives are the bridge, the orchard on the right, the big house in the middle, and the far two intersections of the road.
The Brits pull an air attack chit and promptly roll a six so they end up with a Typhoon with rockets. Gah!
And so much for the German Panzer Ace-- without ever firing a shot!
The Brits overloaded the German right flank and are cruising down the road.
The German bad luck continues! This mortar barrage apparently was fired with shells made by slave labor-- ALL duds!
The beleaguered SS watch helplessly as the Shermans advance.
Reinforcements arrive in dribs and drabs and get knocked out quickly.
The pre-plotted barrage drops on the orchard and the squad holding it. It kills one man and pins the Tommies, but little else is done.
The German anti-aircraft kept the Typhoon pinned almost the entire game, it just arrived one turn too late.
One Sherman approaches too close and is pinned by the infantry. It promptly rolls a one and since no friendly infantry is nearby the crew bail out of the tank and leg it.
The Brits are in the German backfield and look to be unstoppable. We quit here and it was a roll over for the Allies.
