Ok, so I really wanted to do some Star Trek TOS gaming using FiveCore (Hi Weasel!) but I am too broke to buy a while new batch of minis to do so. Fortunately the Cardboard Warriors forum link came to my rescue with many 2D standees of Star Trek and other sci-fi persuasion. Here are the basic teams of my first three groups:
Federation, Klingon, and Kroot
Security team from the USS Anubis
Klingon adversaries, which is strange because the Anubis is fighting Romulans.
Kroot, which are not from Star Trek. But I love me some Kroot, and they are going to be in MY Star Trek games. Let me know what you think! |

Not bad at all and the Kroot look like they'd rough up some klingons pretty bad. I guess the only downside is if you photo them, gotta make them all face the same direction so you can see them :-) (and I was about to ask what you were playing star trek with, then I saw you said FiveCore, so hey!) |

Dude… I even said "Hi" to you personally lol! While I have you here, I have a question: how would I represent phasers set to "stun"? I was thinking 3 or 4 shock dice, but that might be too much. |

I'm pretty bad about skimming sometimes :-) Normally I'm worried about dice proliferation, but I might be tempted to create a Stun die. 1 is lose an action 6 is stunned for the remainder of the fight. 3 dice or so? They seem pretty effective in the show, just limit the range. |

Kroot fit in practically any game. They're handy like that. As far as phasers set to stun, I'd treat them as any comparable weapon – probably 1K1S, 1K2S? Two differences from other weapons: the target doesn't actually die, so they're still alive after the battle, and against enemies that aren't susceptible to stun, the first "kill" using phasers in the game is disregarded. After that, some bright spark orders everyone to set their phasers to kill when shooting at things they can't stun. But then, I don't like adding complicated mechanics. |

Does anyone know of any place that has "box" minis. A picture of the front, each side, and rear (and a top down pic) to make a cube shaped miniature would be nice – no need to align them just right. |

Those look really nice, the key thing is to have fun! Given my 15mm ST-TOS project may take another decade to get around to, I may grab these too. |

Fullarena – that's way easier yeah. I like that. |

Fullerena wins for phasers. Federation and Klingon are armed with equivalent pistols, but Federation has stun (good for scenarios.) Kroot are armed with rifles. Both Kilngons and Kroot get +1 to Brawl rolls. Romulans are equivalent to Federation. |

If I was messing with it, I might let Klingons enter brawls on a scurry turn, make them a bit more aggro :) |

Right now I am trying to keep it simple while I get better acwuainted with the rules.. Klingon Scurry Brawl moves will be something I can tinker with later on. And Klingon dogs. Klingons love their dogs. |
