After around 40+ games of Grunt's Forward, I finally had a character earn a medal. Battle was 1st Cav in the highlands of Vietnam. Report here: Platoonforward.blogspot.com Enjoy Joe |

Fantastic Joe, and about time! That's why I don't leave medals to die rolls, I jus hand them out like candy to the troops that somehow survived my strategery. ;) You're still using Combat Patrol I guess? And I don't want to poke at ya, but I wish you'd have given your normal, blow-by blow account of the fight. I was very interested in seeing how Laurence cleaned out that hill. And put me down for one of those 'Grunts Forward.' V/R, Jack |

Jack, Thought I would try something different. Had plenty of other pics as I didn't know he would play the hero! Am using Combat Patrol for everything but morale. For that I am using Ambush Alley. I love the activation for CP- I have 1 #one card and 3 # six cards. Poor leaders minus from their activation rolls thus they have a higher chance of a 1 and can't get a 6. Lawrence is a "normal" leader so doesn't add or subtract. He rolled a 6 for the first three turns and the six cards kept coming up. I did roll for final defensive fire and the NVA failed all their rolls! It was crazy. After clearing the hill his squad was pinned down so 1st squad cleared the outskirts of the village. Basically it was incredible luck for the US forces. ( About time!! If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all--- doom, despair and agony on me!~) Joe |

Pretty cool! Definitely sounds like you're having a good time with Combat Patrol. I'm working on a Vietnam era US Army leg platoon right now. V/R, Jack |
