What kind of uniform did the Prussian Foot Guards of 1806 wear? Was it similar to Line infantry, or Grenadiers, or different entirely? Appreciate any help on this point.

Those are 1806 plates.

I believe those are meant to illustrate earlier uniforms from 1740 etc., but my german is a but rusty. I did mine after the hourtoulle book on Jena auerstadt. You can see them as part of the prussian army pics on my blog, but the photos aren't great. I was uncertain whether all guards wore the mitre/bearskin or if some companies wore the bicorn.

No, they are 1806. See: link

Yes – for sure they are Guards of 1806 – from napoleon-online.de

You could take more or less any line infantry miniature musketeer of 1806 and paint like Guards, beware of long field trousers also for compaign, which all Prussian infantry did wear in 1806.

The mitre cap was not worn in the field, but the "Interims" uniform

Hourtoulle is nice but needs severe cross checking on Prussian uniforms

actually here by Döppler 1806 in my view the best source for 1806 Prussian uniforms (parade dress)

for Potsdam battalion I might be wrong with the hat for field dress and the usuall Prussian grenadier cap might have been worn
