What is very offten forgotten(or just overlooked) is that Herman Goring had planned to forword EVERY aircraft to the invasion front, once it was underway. He had planned to take every plane defending germany, every plane in southern europe(as far away as greece) and throw them at the allied airforces, in a fight to the death, to give the ground forces a precious day or 2 to push the allied invasion back into the sea. Hitler refused to look at the plans. It was(according to many high ranking officers who looked at the plan) a sound plan. |
