So what game to run for Fall In?

I ran Birmingham Hill at last FI (won an award, brag, brag)

I ran Monmouth at CW (won an award, brag, brag)

I am thinking of the following games since they allow a good number of players:

1. Germantown (would need to paint up the Chew House and make up a few fall foliage trees

2. Guilford Court House – but would need to make up some winter (no leaves) trees (pet peeve – when I see at GCH game with full foliage – it was March!)

3. Bunker Hill (very visual, you know what it is, would perhaps have a ship or two on the water – but need to make water, paint some ship crews) – downside is few commands, though I'd add some to the BG scenario for the Stone barn portion.

4. Do I redo Monmouth based on the new book? Or is that a repeat?

5. Same thought about Birmingham Hill – neat battle though.

6. Other? Needs to have lots of commands though.

Crooked Billet. I've run it a couple of times.

Best of all, the Crown Forces win…

My two shillings worth.

Guilford Courthouse is great for a bewildering variety of troop types. Unfortunately, the American second and third lines have nothing to do most of the game.

Germantown is great for keeping everybody involved from Turn 1.

Germantown.

Germantown.

Everybody does Guilford.

Good points about GCH – second and third lines are sitting on their hands, and everyone does it. Leaning toward Germantown.

Often times in games the GM will start out the game with the players marching their commands onto the game board, which often reduces the shooting part of the game. I am thinking of starting my game just before the shooting starts instead. It robs the game of some maneuvering element, but should have more shooting time and perhaps resolution.

Germantown works for me--fun battle, and the Doodles are on the offensive.
