Sad to report that the South London Wargamers (formerly the Clapham Wargamers), who meet on Thursdays in Balham have made the difficult decision to close in the next few weeks. The lack of members and running out of funds means that the end is near. Any former members here who wish to reclaim their donated terrain should contact the club, and there is likely to be a final get together. A sad end to a lovely club :-( |

Oh, very sorry to hear this. I know my local group of mostly historical wargamers is down to about 4-5. |

Ironically it was mainly a club of 40K and WHFBers that started about 10 years ago. The killing blow seems to have been a move from Clapham to Balham, which made good sense, but meant a lot of members no longer wanted to make the signifcantly longer journey. I keep meaning to try and set up a local friendly club in Camberwell and Peckham, but finding how many gamers there are is always tricky. |

There's a club that meets in East Molesey (near Hampton Court), every Sunday evening, that may work for those of you in Surrey. I haven't been along in a while due to care commitments but they're a nice bunch of guys and I'm sure would welcome some new members.

Jimlad – I live in Peckham and am a member of the South London Warlords and there is quite a lot of 40K played there – sorry but I don't know what WHFB is but probably someone there plays it! We are always looking for new members, and if you fancy popping along for a butchers and a chat you will find that we are a friendly bunch (although we are currently on our summer break until the first Monday in September). |

Iain – thanks, looked at SLW but it doesnt work for me for a variety of reasons. But happy to arrange a historical game (Frostgrave, SAGA etc) outside of that though! I am camberwell based. |

No probs Jim. I'm a WW2, Napoleonics, Cold War type I'm afraid. Although just getting the Ancients bug if that helps…. By the way there is a club in Bethnal Green that meets at the Working Mans Club so not too far from the Overground at Shoreditch. Might be a bit of a shlep but they do 40K stuff there, can't remember what they are called though. |

Ezza – thanks, I have popped into the Exiles, top blokes but the games you've played are either not really my scene, or the ones I want to play are on nights I can't make! I will try and swing by again though. |
