I have lost my mojo here of late when it comes to getting excited about painting minis, working on terrain or trying to decide what I want to run for a convention. Nothing seems to jazz me at all. I have a number of options but cannot for the life of me get too worked up to work on any of them. Not sure what is causing the block. Of course this is a first world problem, still it is bugging the beejebbers out of me.

Suggestions????

The Summer is hot here in Texas and the gaming is also HOT. It was a busy July: Flames of War tournament in San Antonio (FOWSA), Bolt Action tournament at Fort Hood, Summer Historical wargaming Muster, TEXICON in Dallas-Fort Worth.

August will be just as busy for us in the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) Society.

So if you live in Texas come on out and join us – contact one of the board members or myself and get involved.

I literally just went thru this. I think you may just have to wait it out. I did jump start a project by inviting some guys to paint and made up a great sandwich crockpot type day. I am working alot and summer is in full swing. When the weather cools I paint outside. I love that.

Kellman,

I have gone through this several times over the years. Go do something different for awhile. Take a break and stop thinking about it at all. Then in a few weeks or when you feel like it don't look at minis or projects that are incomplete but go and watch a favorite inspirational movie. For me it is the Wind and the Lion, Lawrence of Arabia, Kim and Passage to India. By then I am ready to do something.

When I do sit down to paint, I make sure I have a defined project to paint. I usually start small like just a unit of figs rather than a whole army. Sometimes I start with a single figure. Before I know it I am back into it and things are going well. If I start to feel burned out I take a short break again or switch to something else. Eventually you will play something at a con or with friends that gets you back into it again.

Good Luck!

Just been through the same thing myself Kim :-(

So I stopped looking at what was new out there, because nothing enthused me enough to bring on the urge to buy, paint and game and looked back at what used to get me all fired up in the past. Now I play lots of WAB and am still doing plenty of WHFB 8th edition, but adding the figures in to existing armies or planning new ones – It's brought the gaming butterflies back, for me anyway! :-D
