I put together another 15mm AWI game with the intention of getting some more regular units in play and seeing how a proper 4 player game would go. Randy and I were the the Crown forces. He had the Brit Lts (4 groups of Lts and a skirmish group and 3 ldrs) I had some green-coated Loyalsists (3 groups of Prov Reg, 2 skirmish grops and a Cav unit and 4 ldrs) for a total of 82 men and 7 ldrs. The Rebels had 5 groups of State Line, 2 militia skirmish groups(52 men and 3 ldrs) under John and the local Militia under newbie Burt had 4 groups of Militia, 2 skirmish groups and 2 Mtd Militia groups (68 men and 5 ldrs)for a total of 120 men and 8 ldrs. They also had a physic. We set up a pretty symetrically laod out table for scenario #1 -Meeting Engagement. The Crown pulled it off despite managing to lose the main unit's commander chip after the first deployment. After the game, we decided to check the bag to make sure that the chip did in fact exist. Randy had absentmindedly put the chip in his pocket. So much for taking advantage of all those command chips and a Status 3 leader. Link to flickr set: link

That is a great looking table. Is the game mat a pre-printed one, or one you've made? |

As always maginificent tables. The only odd thing: the threegrey UFOs looking like balls of dust? Dropped by the cat? |

The smoke puffs --One of the gamers brought them to use for designated unloaded troops so we used them. I have plenty of realistic smoke but I have no problem getting their toys in play. Thanks for comments. |

I really enjoyed seeing this, as I'm planning to use 15mm for SP2 as well, but set in the ACW. I just have to finish up some forces. I'm curious if you made any distance adjustments / or any other modifiers or just played it straight. did you use single basing? it appears that you had 2-3 guys to a base, was that 'one' base or 2 guys and just used casualty markers. my plan was to have bases with 3 figures on it count as 'one' of the group if you know what I mean. basically Regimental Fire and Fury basing so that I can play both games with the same figures. |

Great looking game – thanks for sharing! I have the same questions as Stewart – I have plenty of figures based for F&F, but was thinking of picking up Sharp Practice 2 for smaller scale actions. I could certainly base some singles, but being totally unfamiliar with SP 1 or 2, I wasn't sure how it would work. Thanks! - Robert |

I have figures based 3,2 and individually. Doesn't really matter as long as you have the ability to keep track of how many men are in that unit. The SP2 groups are suppose to be in units of 6,8, and 10. If you say a base is a certain number, I don't see any problem as long as you have some way to designate the actual strength. I think 15mm looks closer to the actual ground scale, so that works for me without any adjustments. M |
