Just wanted everyone to know that I got my copy of Imperial Skies on Saturday and I really like it. Everything is laid out pretty well with diagrams and color pictures explaining things. This is a different set of rules than Aeronef but it has similar things too. I'm looking forward getting some games in at some point. The NEW minis from the Kickstarter will be shipped very soon so I'm looking forward getting those as well as the move markers etc for the game itself. When I get the minis I'll post here. Michael |

Yea, got mine Friday. Robin did something clever with the book release. He had "Drivethrurpg" print them up and deliver them directly to the kickstarter supporters (rather than ship them to the UK then ship them BACK to the States with the miniatures.) |

Any chance of an early, pre-play, review on the rules themselves? |

Yup, I got mine in the mail on Friday too. Excellent color pictures and the text is easy to read. If I had one complaint, it would be that the margins next to the book spine are a bit too close. |

Meanwhile, the poor non-North Americans have to wait for the rules to reach the UK and get packed with minis… |

boy wundyr, have you seen the KS page? I thought it gave an excellent overview, though I've yet to see the book. Sadowa, I fear I may be waiting almost as long as you. I went in with a friend mainly to get some of the dangling stretch goals completed, I do love expanding the line, so it'll be awhile before I lay hands on the opus… ;->= Doug |

Doug I hope you get your rules soon and whatever else you're getting as well. Eventhough these rules aren't connected to the AERONEF rules in any way and believe me I relly like the Aeronef rules which got me into this period but it appears that Imperial Skies can allow me to move on from Aeronef but I can still use the Aeronef models for Imperial Skies. For me my only real complaint(if you can call it that)is that there's no separate Quick Reference Guide it shouldn't be to hard to write one up and print it out since you do need these when you run games at conventions which I'm intending to do. Still waiting on my one :-( |

Captain: Absolutely to all of the above! Sorry if my words gave a different spin. I just meant I'm fine playing 'nef when I can, with plenty of personal tweaks, but looking forward to IS, as well. AND, liking the ship line, I decided expanding it was a very good use of my money. Doug |

Doug there's one thing about Brigade's miniature line it continues to grow. Have you seen pictures of the new German Merchant ships? I also heard that the Spanish Fleet will come out soon but I can't narrow it down anymore. I have to say that without Aeronef I wouldn't into this period and now I take a leap forward with Imperial Skies. And as with Aeronef the Imperial Skies rules are very easy to understand and I hope to get some games under my belt very soon. Michael |

Yeah, but nothing like a 'filled stretch goal' to add 'by leaps and bounds' to 'continues to grow.' ;->= Saw some piccies; to tell the truth, I'm excited by the new 'nefs from the goals, haven't seen the 'nef merchants in person, but I picked up some of the merchant 'spaceships' from Brigade Models, so my dollar is supporting the cause. I know Mr. Fitton has stated he's committed to seeing IS stats for all the currently available 'nef models. Just wondering if any of the few I've got painted are covered yet. Doug |

Just got a look at the book, and it mentions templates in the back that need to be copied, but I'm not seeing any. Was it on a separate sheet for which my friend will have to tear up his house? Are they downloadable anywhere? Doug |

Doug there's a Quick Reference guide page that needs to be copied or scanned but the way the book is that's pretty hard to do unless you take the book apart and do it that way. There's also all the stat cards for the ships, aircraft etc again you can copy/scan them but I think you need to go to the Imperial Skies Facebook page I think they have the stat cards there. Sometime this month Robin is going to Brigade and put the stat cards up on their site in PDF format and for people(like myself)who aren't on Facebook. Michael |
