link Hi everyone, Those of you following Project Jutland will have been wondering how I was going to solve a problem called Engadine. Well here she is in all her witchcraft like 3d printing through the air malarkey. She's not GHQ but I'm proud of her, she will sit nicely with the other ships in the collection. Thanks to Andrew Dickinson for the design and build of the ship. Hopefully he can answer any technical questions because I haven't got a clue. I'm still waiting (although not expecting) the Inquisition to come knocking. It will be interesting to see how traditional companies react to this new technology as it becomes avaliable. I'd love that model if you make it available. Looks like it would print really cleanly on my printer. |

I went for the low angle on the photo to maximise the size of the base just for you 4th Cuiras! Cheers Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |

NO-ONE expects the Spanish Inqui — ! Dammit, it's practically a Pavlovian response… Awfully nice miniature, too. What's the story with the Engadine? Why the built-up structure aft? Seaplane carrier? |

That's very cool. It should totally go up on Shapeways or some other 3D print-to-order service. Is Andrew Dickinson going to make you a Frauenlob next? If he puts that on a 3D printing service where others can order them, I may buy a bunch of them. WTJ is taking too long to come out with that class. - Ix |

It will be interesting to see how traditional companies react to this new technology as it becomes avaliable. It's already available. I think WTJ is showing one of the ways – they do it for you, in whatever scale you choose. It turns out I still prefer cast metal miniatures after all. I really like the prints I can get from WTJ, but the metal is more durable and the weight makes a positive difference in handling. A fleet of WTJ ships can be badly disrupted by a gust of wind. Also, the cost of 3D prints grows alarmingly with added volume. I'd like to see 3D printing used to make nice, precise masters for casting. - Ix |

Hi Martin, correct with the Seaplane guess, ahead of her time. Yellow Admiral, as for distribution who knows I have had a couple of three requests. I am going to be away for a bit so I will look at it when I get back. Not sure about further models, Frauenlob will be sorted old school with a scalpel. I should have said available to all. The cost of the printer alone makes it quite prohibitive and high detail printers even more. I think it will be a long time before it becomes the normal. Cheers Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |
