or your top five choices? This is inspired by a post today.I only have M&R and never intend to have any other sets.I have owned and discarded any number in my time

I have given up on commercial rule sets for the WAS/SYW and now use my own. This is because I have yet to find a set that reflects the linear warfare of the period.

Might and Reason
Maurice
Warfare in the Age of Reason
Charge!
One Hour Wargames ( I use this to introduce people to gaming)
Twilight of the Sun King (with additional rules and tweaks since it is designed for WSS)
Currently enjoying "Der Alte Fritz's" rules and also mashing up Might and Reason with some elements from Blucher. (momentum dice)

I have two.

Gentlemen of France, Fire First! for skirmishes

Volley and Bayonet for full battles.

I don't even look at other rules for the period anymore.

None.

That may change if I start playing the period in 2017.

On one hand, none, as I don't play SYW. On the other, lots, since I have a lot of rules which span multiple periods, Black Powder for example, or Maurice which I got to use for the AWI.

Might and Reason.
Maurice.

Der Alte Fritz's one page SYW rules
Honours of War
Minden Rose
Rank and File
Die Kriegskunst

Bought Maurice but sold it, the cards element made it too cray-cray.

Buckeye AKA Darryl04 Aug 2016 7:42 a.m. PST

Just a few…but I do not play SYW. Used two with Warfare in the Age of Reason, but sold my Prussians and got rid of those rules (I think).

I do have the following:

Two volumes of Koenig Krieg (bought the second copy for about nothing)
Miters, Mustaches, and Muskets (or something like that)
Gentlemen of France, Fire First
Volley and Bayonet

Mooseworks804 Aug 2016 7:01 p.m. PST

One Hour Wargames
Koenig Krieg 2 & 3
Rank & File
Standing Like A Wall
Horse, Foot And Guns
The War Game

Navy Fower Wun Seven05 Aug 2016 1:27 a.m. PST

Black Powder and WRG (plus supplements for both)

genew4905 Aug 2016 2:17 p.m. PST

Batailles du Ancien Regimes
Koenig Krieg 2
Die Kriegskunst
Standing Like A Wall

vtsaogames09 Aug 2016 9:11 a.m. PST

Might and Reason
Batailles du Ancien Regimes
Maurice
Warfare in the Age of Reason
One Hour Wargames
Twilight of the Sun King
Volley & Bayonet
and the latest Honours of War

not counting my home-brew rules that I discarded
