Space Knights!

A new Kickstarter from SLAP Miniatures has just gone live.
Really nice looking armoured SciFi Knights in 15mm with a mediaeval feel to them.

Thanks for the update Ralph.
Not "Space Marines" in 15mm , hurrah. They are really great minis.

Though I would like seeing them compared to other minis before committing as his previous ones are true 15mm i.e. smallish.

I do have other minis that size,e.g. 15mm.co.uk Laserburn minis but the majority I have are 18mm +.

They do look nice, don't they. And the separate heads and arms is a great idea too.
I anticipated size questions and asked Stuart how these compare.
Apparently they are 18mm from foot to top of head, but bear in mind they are not standing upright, so they are larger than the previous figures.

Thanks for the reply Ralph.
Then things are looking rosy indeed.Hopefully the Paladins will be taller still not only bigger. Still one can always stick thicker soles to their fit.
The separate heads & arms are indeed a great idea & I think one of the selling points as no 2 would be alike. A bit fiddly but do able.
Those close assault ones are crying for jump packs & putting a GW plastic Bolter from the first plastic set on one of the heavies would make a fine Hy Bolter with minimal modification.

Personally I would have done backpacks on the heavies also.

I can't tell from that tiny photo how good the models actually are so I will reserve judgement until I see a close-up. I am very leery, though, of separate arms and heads on miniatures that small. I think it would be far too much of a pain to build them.

Stuart sent me a photo of a Space Knight next to a scale.
Have a look on my blog here:

Nazrat, I've made 15mm figures with separate heads before. ClearHorizon Miniatures has some, and I'm sure somebody else has too. Can't remember at the moment. I've never found it to be a problem.

I have to concur with Nazrat. I cannot tell much from the tiny photo and yes when it comes to 15 mm figures I think separate arms are a bit of deal breaker much as I would love "not space marines" in 15 mm. BTW it is alright to say Space Marine as GW lost that legal suit on the naming rights. Of course if the image is too close to their IP that is a different matter. Although since the helmet styles are extremely influenced by later Medieval designs I kind of like the idea of Space Knights. Again not an original idea but the concept is a good one.

CP Models has 15mm guys with separate head options, though heads are ok, my one experience with separate arms for guys holding two-handed weapons didn't go well in 28mm (it was a chicken and egg thing with trying to fit the arms into sockets).

I'm kinda interested, as during last week's Wargame Vault/Drivethrurpg sale I picked up the Baroque Space Opera RPG rules/setting, with the idea of using it as another 15mm space setting, and these guys would work for that.
