They do look cool and it is a manly pink. I know the Greeks were a colourful bunch who liked to paint stuff in bold colours (freezes, etc.) and I can certainly see them painting / dyeing linen cuirasses and they painted bronze shields for sure. Is there evidence for painted helmets? Doesn't matter if there isn't and don't let anyone tell you otherwise if there isn't. I like 'em. |

Hi James, there's a fair bit of evidence for coloured Macedonian helmets- red, blues, whites- from tomb paintings. They liked their colours! |

@olicana as BRB said, here's the restoration work of Vinzenz Brinkmann, who uses raking light and ultraviolet to reveal the original colours on ancient sculptures. Rather shocking to the wargamer's eye. Here's the Alexander sarcophagus with a blue Thracian helm:
