Great painting!

Very great painting there.

The layout is pretty good too from a comp game perspective. Hats off Sparks, organising events is really putting your money where your mouth is with our hobby.

How many points were you playing????

There are a LOT of Soviet tanks on the table although just looking at the photos things did not go well for them. I am getting my Soviets painted up this week in hopes of finally getting in a game of TY.

McWong7301 Aug 2016 8:00 p.m. PST

Looks 100pts. Personally I think that's way too much, 75 would be more balanced as regards the playing area, but 100pts seems to be the preferences of many.

Navy Fower Wun Seven01 Aug 2016 8:24 p.m. PST

Yes 100 points, agree I would normally play on a bigger table with a century, but that's the competition standard so trying to replicate the conditions as much as possible.

Thanks for your kind comments, particularly McWong, but I should admit that the HOH comp was merely my idea, its being organised by my mate Lachlan, as he does this sort of thing in his sleep!(I'm not a competition guy, I'm only supporting this one, and the MOAB one this year, to get Team Yankee off the ground down under!)

That was pretty cool. Churchill said.. 'control the sky, control the battle'.
Love the massed armor. yea it fills a table, but still looks great.

Work still in progress on my troops. but by my calculations,I have somewhere around 120-125 pts. worth of Soviets so far.

ScottS02 Aug 2016 10:19 a.m. PST

That looks excellent!

Agree that 75 points seems to more reasonable way to play. However, I've not gotten in a game yet so take my opinion with the proper amount of sodium.

I don't have an interest in a tournament game as I am looking at TY for scenario based games. Still a nice looking table and models. I should have my initial box set of Soviets done this week. Which is to say the 9 T-72s and 2 Hinds.

Question? Who makes those wonderful brewed up markers? Are they Litko?

Thanks

kallman02 Aug 2016 12:35 p.m. PST

Yep just found them on Litko's website along with a lot of other great markers.
