OK as our return at Carronade went well/wasn't as bad as expected/didn't burn down the WHOLE building (Select one from the options.) the guys at Claymore are letting us in. We are running the same game "Operation Retribution" a WW II air wargame in 1/300th. It is, as usual, a participation game and all participants will receive a free set of rules allowing them to play the game at home. The game is set on the first day of the German invasion of Yugoslavia and features the players taking the role of Yugoslav fighters trying to stop the Luftwaffe bombers heading towards Belgrade. The game will include all the Blues Bears usual shenanigans, "Wild Card I Think I Luuurv You"; Wargames Karaoke and of course the "Purple Dice of Doom": So if you are attending the show please drop by and have a game or say hello. If you don' know what we look like we are the loud ones wearing Hawaiian Shirts. Hope to see you on the day.

Too bad it's a little far for me to drive. Yugoslav fighters…Early Bf109s and Hurricanes, I suppose…Do you have any IK-3s? What rules?

Fatman02 Aug 2016 5:55 p.m. PST

Ik Z's (The 3 was a Cyrillic Z) and Ik 2's Hurricanes and Me-109E's. The rules are Blues Bears/Blue Skies a simplified version of the John Stannoch set. Drop me a line on
fatman_bear1@yahoo.co.uk and I'll send you one of the books we give out at the game.

Thanks for that Fatman, I have emailed. My second question is, where did you find Ikarus airplane models in 1/300?

Fatman03 Aug 2016 5:39 a.m. PST

Heroics and Ross do both Ik 2 & Ik Z. My Ik 2's are from them but my Ik Z's are Museum Miniatures which are 1/285th but are really nice sculpts.

Remind me to take my ear plugs and dark glasses … wait a minute … I'm very hard of hearing … remind me to take my dark glasses … wait another minute … I won't be able to see anything else clearly … well that's me stuffed.
