In my slow quest to complete a Space Marine Chapter I have come up against the main stumbling block: The Scout Company. Simply put, What are you using as Scouts or as proxies? |

For proxies, maybe some of the GZG infantry figures? You want guys that are armoured but not full power armour, so mid-tech infantry ought to work. The challenge is finding guys without helmets but you may have to just fudge that part. I knew a guy a while back who used regular space marine figures but painted them camo. Looked fine on the table. |

YOu could use Space Marine Sargeants or just put two or three scouts in a base and fill the rest with normal marines. |

I believe Vanguard Miniatures have some Novan Elites, that will work splendidly, in the pipeline. |

Since at the time (decades ago), the 40K scouts looked like this:
I carved up the shoulder armor of Epic tactical marines to match. |

I used Exodus Wars Shadow Knights with head and weapon swaps:

That is an option … you can get EW on the HLS site … link But if not in a hurry the Vanguard DiD figures will be available probably later this year … And Love your Epic Gamer ! |

And just as a sidebar … those old 40K plastic scouts were one of the many GW models I thought were just plain "goofy". Those "poofy" sleeves would just get caught on everything you'd walk by. Those should have been left with the Vatican Swiss Guards ! . Scouts need to be "stealthy", swift and silent. Those "Poofy" sleeves would be very much a hindrance !
One of my SM Scout Plt HQs … a little more "tactical" … |
