I couldn't ever play them even though the figures are nice. Illogical, I know, but it's still how I feel.

I'm with you Nazrat. I can't even watch movies where dogs are mistreated (or die tragically). I end up a blubbering mess.

Yes,even the Nazis felt that way about their dogs. I saw a memo taking somebody to task for not properly feeding and watering the guard dogs on long train journeys.

Of course, these trains were going to concentration camps. . .

Minifigs have some of these in their 12mm packs. Cute.

Anyone know the truth of the story that the first group was trained with T34's, and when used in the field, went straight--for the T34's?

I worked with a police K9 for a little bit – you have to build a real strong rapport with the dog for it to work with you. How a handler could do this to his partner is beyond me.

Luckily I don't have a Russian army, so I wont need to use them, although last week had a fantasy game with my goblins riding there wolves, but yes I know what you mean, been our best friend for thousands of years it just doesn't feel right, but I had a request for a set so it got made, I don't expect to sell thousands.

Here's a link to the Skirmish Campaigns page of free downloads. The linked scenario has rules for using the dogs.

We used one of the mine dogs in one of our skirmish games, the dog went sniffing round some bushes then got shot.

Animals and War rarely mix happily.

My Russians used a captured Panzerfaust next outing….

Tried to hold back, but…

That men (and now women) are so stupid as to continue fighting wars and killing each other rather than find a peaceful method of resolving conflicts and issues is still beyond the understanding of the concept of civilization, but to drag hapless animals into the fray is tragic and reprehensible. Whether dog, horse, camel, bird, or flaming pig it is part of man's stewardship of this planet to protect and nurture life.

Not to say that the sculpting is wrong in a completionist fashion for the hobby, just the thought in general. I won't be using them.

Sorry

Can I see a similar level of outrage for Bat bombs or Pigeon bombs?

Or dolphins?

Or all those trees and bushes ripped apart to cover troops and vehicles in foliage…
