Here are pictures of the ships that will be engaged in the game this Saturday at the CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretative Center in Kinston, NC.

The ships are from Thoroughbred and Bay Area Yards with the ocean surface mats are from Deep Cut Studio.

Nice looking setup. What rules are you using?

Private Matter28 Jul 2016 7:19 p.m. PST

I'll be using Smoke on the Water. The scenario is loosely based on the May 6, 1864 action when the CSS Neuse went out to attack the blockading fleet in the only offensive action of the Confederate navy in Wilmington NC during the war.

I use those as well. Great rules, and interesting scenario. Looking forward to a report of the action.

I need to correct my self; it' was the CSS Raleigh on May 6, 1864 and not the Neuse. I obviously shouldn't multi-task.

Great looking models! Looks like the makings of a good game.

Private Matter29 Jul 2016 6:27 a.m. PST

Thanks G Dog. I subscribe to the 3 foot rule when attempting to paint my wargaming miniatures. If it looks okay from three feet away, I'm satisfied. Hopefully the game goes well.

Commend you for bringing history to life at the Center. Hopefully you get some folks new to gaming.

Like the look of the gaming mat. Another SoTW player here as well (with my gaming buds Dances and G Dog).

Nice. Is that a Bay Lackawanna?

Private Matter29 Jul 2016 12:11 p.m. PST

KSmyth: well spotted, that is BAY's Lackawanna. The other Bay Area Yard ship is the A.D. Vance. The other ships are all Thoroughbred Miniatures.

Nice model, and yours is very well done, three foot rule or not. I really need to get one before they're gone.

Good luck on your game tomorrow.

Small correction. The A.D. Vance is actually a Thoroughbred mini, that looks really good, by the way.

Private Matter29 Jul 2016 7:31 p.m. PST

Actually I was wrong, ithe A.D. Vance is my only Peter Pig model. It's a resin model.
