Oddly enough, whilst out socialising last night I got talking to an Irishman who used to live on the Boyne battlefield (I neglected to ask exactly where; maybe Oldbridge?). He returns to his old home once a year, so he's able to keep up with developments. He remarked that it's only in the last ten years or so that it's become an active tourist site, with an increasing number of visitors traveling from Ulster, where once they wouldn't have given any thought to making the short trip over the border.
