Sounds interesting, though a pity we don't have a way to get men into orbit on our own, and if we have to fight the Russians, or Chinese, I suspect there won't be any spots available on those Russian rockets. Then again, perhaps they'll offer to launch all our guys on the tip of a defective rocket, for 10X the current going rate. That'd be a Putin move. |

Don't worry, Elon Musk has that covered… cheap(ish) manned launches coming up next year… and remember, the Dragon capsule is designed to land anywhere in the solar system using powered landing with the precision of a helicopter… (cough, drop pod, cough) |

"Drop pod". So, that's what they're calling it now? Hope they come up with a way for humans to survive massive Gees, instead of turning into a pulverized, sticky film on the inside of those, when they "drop" with too much force. |
