Good day to everyone… As you probably saw on the TMP homepage, I am asking for help for my brother-in-law who has a Stage 3 cancer. He is suffering from it since last year. For many months, he thought it was just a simple amoeba infection, until we found out recently that he has colon cancer. He is taking herbal medicine for many months, but still not improving. He is very thin now. He worked abroad for many years to support the family, until he recently changed jobs so that he could spend more time with his children. He was a taxi driver, but had to stop working because he is so weak. I moved here so at least I can help them and support as much as I can. I am asking for help because we cannot afford the full amount of the operation. My sister and brother-in-law sent me to school, so I am trying the best that I can to help them in their time of need. He can't leave the hospital until he pays his bill? You've got to be kidding me! He racks up a bigger and bigger bill the longer he stays! What a racket! |

We have our Phil. Health card so it is the government here who pays hospital expenses such as the room, some medicine, food etc., and he has a public room so he is with other patients in that room. He has a private doctor for surgery, meaning we need to pay bill for that because that is not covered by our Philippine health card. Again, thank you so much for helping us! |

It gets worse… when my father-in-law passed away, the hospital wouldn't release the body until his bill was paid! (I guess I understand… has to be hard running a hospital in the Third World…) |
