If I could just grow my 6mm SF vehicles…

Since I cannot, I am looking for inexpensive "close enough" Military trucks, APCs, IFVs, and Scout car type vehicles for skirmish, platoon level games. In time perhaps I will pony up money for more expensive vehicles but for now I just need some transport/light support for my 15/18mm grunts.

Visit pound shops and charity shops (in the US dollar stores and thrift stores) whenever you pass one, be prepared to keep hunting (in the UK charity shops often have a basket of die cast vehicles in the childrens' section for 20p to 50p each).

Be prepared to repaint/modify what you find.

It is also always worth looking at the books charity shops sell.

Okay so the bug hit…you're looking for 15/18mm vehicles?

The toy aisle is great resource. I just picked up a dozen vehicles for use in my 15mm forces. Currently primed gray awaiting repaint.

Latest find is a "Hot Wheels" set themed to a jungle/safari park. Utilities, trucks with net covered beds etc. Pack of 5 for $5. USD Got a tractor carrier with a tricked out tractor. Ditch the tractor and paint the truck – wham! Tank transporter.

I do well in Target and Wal-Mart.

Yes, a lot of the sci-fi-ish Hot Wheels/die cast stuff is closer to 15mm than the 20mm of their real cars.

Just picked up the Ghostbusters car this weekend for 15mm.

Some of the larger MechWarrior Clix vehicles can also stand in as 15mm vehicles:

Ditch the tractor…

Bite your tongue!

'Place gently in your bit's box for further inspiration…'

Unless you're big into clearing space, of course. ;->=

Javeklin98, which ones are those?

I see "People's Holy Republic" vibe all over those APCs!

Glenn, the ones in back or front?

The 'armored cars' are, I think, not Mechwarrior. The ones in back are either Mobile HQ's or MASH units. Lot of repaint and 'new name' going on.
