Hey there people, Ugh, my first post fell victim to the bug. Wondering what figures you would recommend for Militia types for the VBCW. I have a few Peter Pig figures from their SCW range, but wondering if anyone had any other suggestions. Cheers. |

It depends whether you want them in uniforms or not. You can always throw in some partisans and gangsters. |

Most Boer castings will have beards so may not work for the 1930s when most men went clean shaven. But I use WW2 partisans/resistance figures for my militia in my 28mm armies so the same type castings in 15mm should work fine. And in 15mm the more "modern" British and German weapons (WW2 vintage) shouldn't be as evident. Jim |

SCW ranges of militia and republican types plus partisans/resistance would seem to be the best places. Though I can't tell you who makes these ranges……….. :( I do my VBCW in glorious 20mm! |

Some ACW types from PP can be used I've used them in my SCW usually with head transplants but not always. 71. Infantry advancing in civilian hats are fine straight out of the pack. Boers with head swaps would also probably work. Fatman |

Battlefront do a Volkssturm set, some of the figures may be suitable, worth having a look perhaps. Certainly spanish Civil war and Peter Pig Volkssturm range too. |

Bolivian infantry here are worth a look link The flat crowned peaked cap would work for postmen, railway staff etc. You could get crafty with a small file and round off the caps into a bakerboy or flat cap. Also Gangsters here link and here (look down further) link Look for WW2 ranges with partizans/resistance any Spanish civil war range and if anyone covers the conflict in Ireland 1916-23 |
