Here are a few photos of my newly completed 1859 Austrian army project. The figures are based according to Regimental Fire & Fury Rules (3 figures per base, representing approx. 50 real men). There are 3 full regiments, each of which has 4 battalions of 16 stands apiece. It is hard to distinguish the colored regimental collar tabs in this scale, but if you look closely, you'll see they are the 16th (yellow), 29th (light blue) and 35th (red). All figures are OldGlory15s.

Nothing more satisfying than gazing over your finished projects is there? Well done!

And as I always remind my opponent who loves fielding Austrians throughout history, they may never win wars, but at least they always come in second!

(Matter o' fact, just played Venetians vs Imperial Austrian in a renaissance game. The Habsburgs came in second).

Again, well done! 1859 is a great little period, and one I'd love to dabble in some day.

Thanks for the favorable comments, but in my opinion, you can NEVER have enough Austrians!

It was a lot of fun to see these battalions emerge one by one from my painting table. OldGlory15s offers these troops in both 'skirmishing' and 'advancing' packs, but as you can see, I like to mix them together on my stands.

I will post more photos in the near future of units of jagers, dragoons, hussars and artillery that are also part of this army.
