Please indulge me with one last view of the Lithuanian Tartars from Gringos 40. The troopers are as you buy them, the "Command set" represents conversions, as I was solemnly assured we would not soon see an occifer and a trumpeter……what did appear is much better than my efforts.

I wanted to show them as they ended up, with the Polish Lancers of the Guard. Mine are a bizarre collection of campaign, parade, early uniforms and even in late cloaks (converted Perry Russian dragoons and Blucher of course……..)

What now worries me is that maybe they ended up with 3e Eclaireurs instead. Slight differences in saddles/horse furniture and in the waist belt etc.

But von W, you were right yet again. I should have had the pennons fluttering! They look sad next to the rest.

Again Gringos40 do it better. I must again point out that I did convert even the troopers and forgot that. With the real thing you get a lance and a pennant separately…the only time I have ever seen the latter correctly portrayed…attached to the lance, not wrapped around it!

I wanted a finer lance and had these spares from the famous NielsR……so had to use them!

These new ones are the work of Sho Boki I suspect. I do not have such sculpting talent (especially at his scale of working. 28mm is very forgiving).

How funny to see the top figures again. They have been in the attic for years now. They must go back on the study shelves for a while.
