Okay, I have no idea what the thrust of this new King Arthur movie will be. Raised on the streets? Is this a post apocalyptic Arthur? Does anyone know?

Well, that looks worth missing.

I'm going to predict that this piece of crap will rank up there with 300: Rise of an Empire.

Other than Suicide squad all the WB Trailers from SDCC were terrible.

Not even worth a trip to the dollar theater.

I think Arthur's family should sue.

Winston Smith24 Jul 2016 7:52 a.m. PST

Let's see.
It has ninjas, factories, elephants. Yup. That's Arthur.

I bet it's …. edgy.

Winston Smith24 Jul 2016 9:07 a.m. PST

But at least it has Roose Bolton.

Better if it had Ramsay.

You left out aerial explosions.

Well, that looks worth missing.

It looks to me like an attempt to cash in on Game of Thrones, like they just noticed it and they said "wow, if we throw some money at this, get a big name (Jude Law) we have a hit on our hands! We'll make Arthur a street punk who shoots from the hip and keeps it real!" Of course Hollywood loves to copy other folks success. After "Excalibur" was a success we started seeing plenty of Sword and Sorcery genre movies, Clash of the Titans was probably the best, Disney's "Dragonslayer" was a disappointment but better than the other dreck.

Yeah, the umpteenth reboot of "King Kong" but this time he's Kingier and Kongier. Suicide Squad looks interesting though.

I wonder if it will debut on Thanksgiving since it's probably going to be a Turkey.

BTW, my favorite part of ComicCon was when they asked the GoT panel what other show they would like to do a crossover episode with and their answer was "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", the reason? "So we can kill them".

Winston Smith24 Jul 2016 11:22 a.m. PST

I agree that GoT will have a lot to answer for in the future. Namely that a rash of really awful pale imitations will be blamed on it. grin

The latest that I have been able to find is that Guy Ritchie says his Arthur will be an unforgettable action hero and that he's "a hustler, a street kid". Stuff can be unforgettable because of how bad it is as well.

David Johansen24 Jul 2016 1:59 p.m. PST

It's like they gave Arthur the Lord of the Rings treatment. Not really surprising I suppose but seriously Hollywood?

Grignotage24 Jul 2016 5:41 p.m. PST

Looks fun to me. Good cast too.

Mithmee25 Jul 2016 6:42 a.m. PST

Its got Littlefinger in it as well.

Oh and its good enough for me to watch it.

Winston Smith25 Jul 2016 1:55 p.m. PST

I'll watch it for free on demand. Darned if I'll pay to see it.

It was supposed to come out this summer, instead they pushed it back to February~March 2017 (never a good sign, that's a really slow time in the Movie Biz and this is supposed to be a "blockbuster action film"). A 36 year old guy playing Arthur when he pulls the sword from the stone…not my cup of tea.
