I am working on a camp complex using Quansot hut and brick buildings set in England and am wanting to paint them camouflaged. I have been trying to find photos with specific patterns and colors, and have found a few on line, plus some b&w pictures in my Battle of Britain book.

One site I found is here, but it talks more about the chemical make up of the paint as opposed to colors or patterns(although some paint chips are shown).

But was wondering if anyone had any specific patterns or paint colors used. The colors I have found are basically a mid-green, a soft brown and a charcoal gray/black.

The buildings were painted green and black, my old barrack block was still painted so, apart from the wing of the H block that was bombed during the war, humbrol 102 is pretty damn close as the paint fades and changes colour in different light conditions. I'd say about black 1:2 green ratio.

that was RAF Honington in Suffolk. Hope this helps,

Per Ardua.

Thanks Per Ardua, good information and appreciate the color reference. I have a couple of Humbrol paint catalogs with color chips so can see what you are referring to. I have also received some truly awesome help thru another forum. I am still amazed at the benefits of the cyber world and the kindness of people around the world who seem so willing to help.

Thanks again,

Terry

Look for old colour pictures of ICI in Teesside during the war and see the array of colours used.

Andy P,

Very excellent I have seen that picture before, but never knew what it was. Great help!

Thanks,

Terry
