Any idea what the pattern on the boots of the soldier up front on the "Slaughter of the Innocents" carving is supposed to represent? Grelber |

Any idea what the pattern on the boots of the soldier up front on the "Slaughter of the Innocents" carving is supposed to represent? There seems to be a dividing line between shoes and hose. Herod has bare feet! Any idea what the pattern on the boots of the soldier up front on the "Slaughter of the Innocents" carving is supposed to represent? --- Shame I can't spell. The soldier on the left may have a beard. He has the sword in Ian Heath's drawing. Druzhina Illustrations of Costume & Soldiers |

Nit picky, but Salerno is on the mainland, lest someone be disappointed. Good find! I hope to one day see these! |
