Bloody Big Battles uses several status markers. I created several that "stack." The markers are built from Age of Eagles markers from Litko link I then put them on top of painted oval bases link The low on ammunition marker is a round base painted black with spent 22 shells glued on. One is vertical so you can grab it.
Next I created some "holding boxes" which are just printed paper. These are off to the side and lets you put your troops out for later reinforcements or casualties. Simple and speeds up the game.

Your markers are certainly clear and not unattractive but they are a bit too large and obtrusive for my taste. For my games I use the following: 'Disrupted'/'Silenced' – Casualty figure on a round base. 'Low Ammo' – Scale ammo boxes or stacks of shells/roundshot on a round base. 'Reduced Bty' – Broken gun carriage (or just wheel) on round or rectangular base (depending on what I have available – not modelled specifically for BBB). 'Spent' – Casualty figure on a rectangular base that is same size as a standard figure base (I'm in the process of making these). |

I like your ideas. We made our markers large and purposefully obtrusive because we play with 10 guys and we want folks to tell at a distance the status of the units on the field. I love this hobby. The variations of markers are endless and as long as we have fun, that is what counts. Pictures please of your markers. ! |
