Love the hexagonal skirt pattern. |

Is that a pic of an actual casting or a digital render? If the first, that's a really nice casting. |
McWong73 | 21 Jul 2016 5:29 p.m. PST |
I suspect casting, there's small bits of flash in the side hull vents. The GD series tank destroyer is something I've been waiting on for a while. |

I really, really like that APC |

It's a photo of the casting. I have some on my painting bench right now. There are eight variants (including turrets from the half track range) and are modular including an offset gunned tank destroyer. They are upgrades for many Slammers forces (Broglie's Legion, UDB etc). Mine are Flaming Sword Commando timeline updates. John T |

Love the details and modularity, but I do wonder about a hovercraft with an off-set mount TD gun… Are these 15mm? It's not clear on the site. |
John Treadaway | 22 Jul 2016 5:34 a.m. PST |
They are 15mm. Modularity: the basic four types are resin hulls and metal hull sections and turrets (well, the APV back is resin as well) and, from the box, they go together very neatly. The extra turrets from the previous range of Half Tracks like this one
…took me 30 seconds with a dremmel to open their holes up a bit(!) as the new models have a slightly smaller orifice. Mine were pre-production so I'm assuming these will be fixed on the production castings. Either way, no biggie… Offset? I'd imagine (cranking up the handwavium generator) that they are so flooded with AI systems that the computer compensates 'fly by wire' style when it fires to offset any torque, same as it would with a centrally mounted weapon (to stop it being pushed backwards in to last week when it fired!!). Or something… John T |

Is there an Ainsty source int he USA? |
TheBeast | 22 Jul 2016 6:04 a.m. PST |
Recreational Conflict did; I think they were selling off a number of lines last time we shared booth space. Got me some very reasonable Space Vixens at the time. Don't know if they still carry Ainsty, but even if they do, it's limited. Doug |

Very nice, and I do dig that hexagonal pattern! |

Always with the sales, when I'm broke. |

We do carry Ainsty, as well as a number of other manufacturers, some of which needs to be clearanced occasionally. We'll have these soon hopefully. Restocks from Ainsty have been slow lately. :/ recreationalconflict.lusagi.com |

A couple of folks asked how big these new vehicles are. As I have the opportunity, I thought I'd measure them: They are 83mm long and 48mm wide at the front (where it's widest) narrowing to about 42mm at the rear. John T |
TheBeast | 24 Jul 2016 3:49 a.m. PST |
We do carry Ainsty… Apologies if I misrepresented! So many sellers have been 'rationalizing' lines of late, it's easy to get the wrong idea. By the way, we've dealt both in person and through mail, and here's a big, public thumbs up! Hope to see you in September. Doug |

Hi guys, Those new blowers look great, I think I'm going to build myself a Broglie detachment. @J.T.: did you update the crucible main site for those new Ainsty models? New cards, etc.? More generally: what are the last updates you made to the site? Navigating this site is a little complicated… I usually have trouble finding stuff that I looked at a while ago for example I cannot find for the life of me the page about ambulances and other specialists. |
John Treadaway | 27 Jul 2016 6:33 a.m. PST |
Seanny Crow Thanks for asking – sorry I've been a bit slack coming back: in bed with a bad dose of something… These new vehicles are designed as later timeline forces for, specifically, the Flaming Sword Commando, Broglie's Legion (now ben Medhi's Legion after the death of Lucas Broglie) and the United Defence Batteries and – illness aside – I'll have stat cards for them up on the site over the next few weeks. All force playsheets – big detachment cards – can be found on this page link by hitting the button that says "Big Detachment Cards" and then the force selected from the alphabetical list in the three scales catered for (though the only one getting much action at the moment is 15mm, I'll confess). I do often post seperate background on new forces (like these will be) on the New Forces page link to replicate the background detail they would have got had they been in the main rule book. But – if you ever get lost – feel free to email me from the links at the contacts section of the site. Assuming I stop throwing up sometime soon I'll always be happy to answer questions! The ambulance and Specialist vehicle rules (still in testing) are in the Rules is Rules section link along with a very detailed explanation of the infantry close assault rules that, embarrassingly, I had to check out on my phone the other day running a game. Well, swarms of infantry doesn't happen that often! Oh, and you have a point: the site is now so big it could do with a "what's new" section: a good thought that I shall ponder. John T PS – Slammers fans might enjoy the article I've just written for Miniature Wargames on a game I did with the editor Henry Hyde which will hopefully be out soon. I'm probably going to do an article on painting these new vehicles as well. |
