That's OK, so far. We've got two carriers on the way with no aircraft to launch from them. |

Indeed, I wonder if ours could help alleviate the runway shortage at Heathrow? |

Seems like the British and/or French have a similar problem with their token carrier(s). |

I tell a lie, sorry, it seems we actually have one aircraft to launch. I wonder which of the carriers will get it. |

They are using a new high tech catapult system that's totally new. If you push the technological envelope you will likely have problems. As for defending itself, what carrier does that? Magnetic catapult, new arrestor system, new deck handling layout and totally new power distribution. It will, as with almost all new weapons systems, take much longer and cost more. Congress postures and demands initial estimates that are always too optimistic for new technologies and the services go along with the industries in agreeing to silly initial estimates as that is how the game is played. |

Hopefully all faults will be found and fixed in a timely manner. But again it's as much of a question of $$$ vs. tech, possibly … |

Didn't the original Gerald Ford have some trouble with tripping and falling? link |

Ford was decorated WWII naval veteran. So remember that when you poke fun at him. One of the few politicians that deserve a ship named after him. |
