My latest blog entry covers our refight of Lissa, taken place on the island of Vis.

The blank space between "co." and "uk" messes up the link.

Looks like a fine game, though.

Try it now. It needed a www and dot in front, the space removed, and the stuff after the html removed.

I picked up 'Broadside and Ram' and have been tinkering around with them. They should morph to the ACW quite well in addition to giving a fast and fun Lissa.

I thought about using them for 1864 too.

I didn't know about Broadside and Ram until this post. I just bought the PDF from wargamevault.com.

Are those ships scratch built?

Great show. That said there were smaller, but considerable ironclad fleet actions in the Boshin War (during the later Ezo Republic phase) in Japan in 1868-169 (Hakodate saw 8 ships vs. 5 and Miyako 8 vs. 3) and the Sino-French War of 1884-1885 (Fuzhou saw 22 mixed types vs. 11 ironclad and steamships and shipu 5 vs. 4). Lissa is the biggest without question but not the only.

This might be a better place to ask my very lazy question: does anyone have a convenient list of the generic models (1/2400 or 1/3000) you would need for the fleets? From what I can tell the main suppliers do some of the vessels but not all. Ideally a couple of "fleet packs" would be just the thing …

That's why I asked if these were scratch built. If I can buy the complete fleets in 1/1200 scale, I want them.

The Figurehead wooden ships are very generic, so it should be easy to compile a shopping list just from the Wikipedia page about Lissa.

You can get all the ironclads and many of the larger wooden ships in 1/1000 from Great Endeavors, individually or in fleet packs. These are the old Houston's Ironclads models.

You can also get all of the ironclads in 1/600 scale from Bay Area Yards, but for the wooden ships you will still have to substitute ships of the line, frigates, sloops and corvettes from other nations, or scratch build.
