The Animated Series (the one that was actually called that) was set in a 90s that looked very 30s in style. There VCRs and 3d computer graphics, though TV was still broadcast in greyscale; gangsters wore pinstriped suits, wielded Thompsons with drum mags, and drove cars built in a 30s shape with Art Deco body styling. The city's architecture conformed to a much darker City Noir form of Art Deco with some hints of Gothic, and yes, the Gotham PD had airships. One was brought down by a villain with a lightning cannon who thought he was a god of classical mythology. |
