Posted an AAR to my blog on the first of two games that I ran at Historicon this year using "To the Strongest! rules by Simon Miller
link The game was fun and the rules well received by all. I was surprised how many had never heard of To the Strongest! previously. Peter Peter |

Thanks for running the game, Peter. I learned a lot on how not to run the light chariots ;) John |

I have yet to run a TtS game that players have not enjoyed, and said they would play again. |

Hi Peter, the game looks fantastic! I would really love to come to Historicon one year, perhaps 2017. So far, my marketing strategy has been to keep to the Strongest a closely guarded secret. ;-) I must sort out a US distributor. Best, Simon |

Very nice. Well laid out blog. |

I much regret missing both of your TtS games at the convention. This one looks terrific. And, of course, your blog remains a great resource. Have you any thoughts about the application of these rules to the Horse and Musket era? Somebody once said that there is no such thing as a game that moves too quickly. But if that was really true, we would play only games of 52-Pickup! The use of grids has always attracted me, not only because it speeds up the game; but also because it removes what I call "fidgeting" -the time-wasting process of trying to get a cheap advantage by getting just the right angle for an attack. Good to see you. Dan " |

I had a great time with my two TtS games, so it is likely that I will do some more in 2017. It would be great to have you come over, Simon! I have quite a number of mostly "old school" Ancient armies that I'd be happy to let you have use of for the convention. IIRC, last year On Military Matters carried the print version. Unfortunately, they didn't attend Historicon this year. As I have said several times, the electronic version is superb… and no shipping charges! Dan, It was good to see you as always. There is always next year… |

Hi Dan, I am currently working on a pike and shot version for release next spring. I will likely look at the WSS thereafter… and eventually Napoleonic. In terms of US distribution I have sold a lot of both the electronic and physical copies into the US from the UK but I promise that I'll look at getting a local distributor set up for the shows. The pound is attractively low against the dollar at the moment which makes the rules pretty cheap…. the rules can be ordered here: link And thanks Peter, I will look into coming over for 2017. :-) Best, Simon |

I had bought the "To The Strongest" rules at a previous HMGS convention. I had read through them, but nothing like playing a game to get them down and understood. Peter did a great game at Historicon, and I'll keep an eye out for any future TTS games he runs. (hint, hint) |

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I think it is likely that I will run some TtS next year… unless we get Simon to come and do it himself (hint, hint). :-) |

BTW I have put on a worldwide post-free rules promotion, just for this weekend! TMP link |

Simon, Just took advantage of your promotion. I'm primarily a Napoleonic and sci-fi player, but the rules sound great….and you may gradually work your way to the horse and musket period ;) Scott |

Super Scott- I can see your order. Funnily enough I'm working today on an Italian Wars supplement AND a standalone set of ECW rules. Best, Simon |

Every time I have run a To the Strongest game at a con (I've done it now 4 times) all the players loved it and professed to wanting to play it again. It is my favorite rules set. |

Great write up. Very helpful. Great period also. Must get out of the garden and back to figures. |

I also took advantage of the free shipping (I need another set of rules like a hole in the head but I am hoping they might adapt well to solo play). I am looking forward to the ECW version. |
