As I dont want my artillery observers to die, is there any way that an artillery observer can target an enemy, observe, and then scoot to concealing terrain or does the artillery observer have to remain and risk getting hit??

Rick,
Notice the too hit number on the FO card. It is higher then just a standard model making it more difficult to kill the FO.

I had the "pleasure" of my observer the target of a half dozen T72, and had my FIST destroyed, so, can I observe/target and scoot??

Can't they use the shoot and scoot movement rule?

Do you mean in real life or according to the rules?

Rick Don Burnette19 Jul 2016 8:18 a.m. PST

According to the rules you can jn TY shoot and scoot
Can you do an artillery observation///shoot amd the observer scoot??

Mako1119 Jul 2016 10:44 a.m. PST

I don't think so.

Rick Don Burnette19 Jul 2016 1:49 p.m. PST

I ask since I see nothing in the TY rules one way or another on this
So
There are two ways to go with this
If there is no rule about this then using the shoot and scoot for the artillery observer is permitted since the observer is "shooting" or sonce theres nothing about this it is not

Mako1119 Jul 2016 2:33 p.m. PST

Ask on the official TY discussion boards.

My guess is you'll get an answer from the rules author, on the forum there.

The issue I see with this is that frequently the FOOs would stay in place to direct and adjust the incoming artillery rounds, from what I've read. With more modern ammo, they might even need to stay in place to laze the targets as well.

I shall ask

What is really supposed to happen with FOs or anything else and its application to TY is irrelevant since TY is entirely a game

McWong7320 Jul 2016 8:14 p.m. PST

The FOO isn't shooting, but definitely check the BF forum.
