Blue Moon … great sculpting, easy to paint, and a very extensive range. Plus, they are very inexpensive in the USA. |

My favorites in terms of character are still the old Heritage Confederettes. Collected a lot over the years. |

Old Glory for variety of poses. AB for quality in 18mm. Peter Pig for true 15mm in terms of quality and variety. |

AB, original Old Glory releases, Blue Moon are all tied for First in my book! If AB release some Advancing at Right Shoulder Shift it would fill out the line nicely! Old Glory and Blue Moon have a variety of poses, and offer some real character to them! All three lines could use a little more variety in their command figures though! |

I don't know what people see in Stone Mountain figures. I have never cared for them. Some of the infantry appear to be two dimensional and have some sort of spinal disease. I will admit they have a lot of fans. I do like there terrain, limbers and guns. |

Forgot to mention I still like the old Empire brand figures. Not crazy about the metal flags though. Is Heritage the same as Empire? |

I like Freikorps, lotsa great weapons for your artillery though the gunners I have are a bit runty. I also like Stone Mountain – they do sometimes have a hunched look as RallyNow alludes – but perhaps that is an artifact of being under fire. |

vagamer63, did you see AB released 12 new command figures three weeks ago? I believe more infantry and artillery in preparation too Nic EUREKA MINIATURES |

Nic, Yes INDEED!! I couldn't make Historicon, but a friend of mine picked up the NEW Personality and Staff Packs for me!! I am waiting (patiently!) until the new Artillery Crews are released!! When I spoke about Command Figures I had in mind specifically Foot Command! If there were a variation of about 5 or 6 Officer and Flag Bearer castings for each side (CS & US) it would help cut down the time I spend doing head or arm swaps between figures to get a little more variation then what is currently available in the line! I know it's a lot to ask, and most gamers don't mind that much. However, if there were more variation each Regiment in a Brigade could look a little more unique as regards the command stand! Just my thoughts on it! |

Friekorps 15, I like their range which includes specialty uniforms and units. I have a regiment of their Missouri Border Raiders and mixed in some of their other Confederates and came up with a really unique unit. Their Mex\Amer and Texas Revolution figs look nicely when sprinkled about in with my Confederate units. Great variety. |

Blue Moon … hands down, the very best in all categories … durability, variety of figures/poses, prices, etc. |

I like Peter Pig -solid robust wargame figures. Lancashire Games has a nice looking new 18mm range. TMP link TMP link |

Another vote for the old Heritage figs. Still in use in my armies, and true 15's the Blue Moon stuff is closer to 20's |

Old Glory (especially the Dave Aslop original castings) and Battle Honors/AB. Stone Mountain makes the best artillery carriages and tubes, hands down. |

Answers to this question are going to be biased in favour of personal preferences. One man's 'hands down winner' is a total mystery to the next man, who has his own, quite different, 'hands down winner'! I know many players like a variety of figures but I prefer sticking to one range where possible. I favour the Peter Pig range as it has most of what I want, paints up very easily and looks good (to me) when done. My best wargaming friend swears by Old Glory. He's also quite taken with the recent sample packs he's received from Lancashire Games but I won't see those until his next visit so can't comment other than to say the pics I've seen look nice. |

The Freikorp15 range is sold by QRF/TSS: totalsystemscenic.com The ACW range is quite extensive, infantry, cavalry, command units (including personalities), field guns, seige guns, wagons, limbers and buildings.
