The new Tarzan movie really inspired to do a little Pulp action in Africa. So I pulled out an old Wargames Illustrated issue where Gary Chalk lays down some plans for a ship. And 5 days later it's ready. Still need to order a gun for the front.

That looks like it'll do the trick.

Not just your 'plain Jane' riverboat. : > )

Well done. Which Issue of WI had the plans?

Oh I like that – Gary Chalk's stuff really is a great source of inspiration. :-)

That is a great example – love the weathering!

I made one too (although I lengthened it) although it's not quite finished.

As I'm in Botswana at the moment I am feeling all Africa inspired and your lovely model means I think that I will try and get mine done when I return!

Where would you get guns for 28 mm boats. I used to know but have forgotten who makes individual Gatling, maxim, pom poms, two pounders and the like?

Oh and can someone share the plans for making the paddle steamer please?

Kim,
Two places to find naval guns and machine guns are The Virtual Armchair General and Old Glory 25's. As for gunboat plans, this link will take you to a page that has PDF plans for a 15mm gunboat. Perhaps you could extrapolate to 28mm?
