If you are going to watch it, see the tv series first. There are AARs of Girls und Panzer games posted on TMP. Company B even did some decals for the tanks. |

True that they have around for a while – I have seen the series – interesting watching; after all, how many TV shows have a Type 95? Just thought it was interesting that the movie did so well! I have to say I am impressed at the detail they do into – although I don't think tanks can "drift" |

Is that "drifting" or "sliding on ice"? "Drifting" implies a certain degree of control while "sliding on ice" doesn't.
Neat videos though! |

In the G&P world, driving and fighting with tanks is a recognized extra-curricular school activity, like volleyball or painting, complete with championships. It's seen as a girl's activity and the tanks are modified with special ammo and extra safety measures to protect the crew from harm, all include a special system that displays a white flag whenever a tank is considered destroyed or disabled. In the series, the main character's school is about to be closed down for budget cuts, but they might be allowed to continue if they make the championship. The school hasn't done any "sensha-do" or tankery in years and scrounge together a bunch of various tanks to compete. As it happens the latest transfer student happens to be the youngest daughter of a very important sensha-do family who was ostracised for putting her teammate's lives before winning the championship. |
