From Flower to Sapling?

Can a plastic flower become a wargaming shrub? Or maybe a small tree?

A 9 hours 37 minute drive for me… I was all smiles there for a moment.

The page at the link looks outstanding! If it is any indication of your organization it should be a great time.

I would love to bring my newly painted Normans but Texas is just too far! Looks like a great event.

GUNS OF AUGUST SAGA GRAND MELEE TOURNAMENT

SCHEDULE:
9:40 am – 10 am TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
10 am – 11:30 am CLASH OF WARLORDS
12 noon – 1:30 pm HOMELAND
2 pm – 3:30 pm BATTLE TWILIGHT
4 pm – 5:30 pm GOD WILL RECOGNIZE HIS OWN
5:30 pm – 5:45 pm BEST PAINTED WARBAND VOTING & PRIZES ANNOUNCED

FACTIONS:
You can enter the Grand Melee with a six point warband from any officially published faction, except SAGA Revenants or Arabs (from Wargames Illustrated magazine.) Feel free to use figures from any manufacturer, so long as they are WYSIWYG.
All figures must be painted and appropriately based.
WARBAND ROSTER SHEET:
When you begin the tournament, please have two Warband Roster Sheets ready, containing the following details: player name, faction, points spent breakdown, and Warband composition. By points spent breakdown we mean, for example, 2 points Hearthguard, 2 points Warriors, 2 points Levy. For Warband composition, please indicate for each class of troops the number of models fielded, and any equipment or special options selected. These equipment and/or options are fixed for the whole tournament. However, you may change the way you field your troop types from game to game (e.g. you could field a unit of eight Hearthguards in one game, and use them as two units of four in the next.) One of your Warband Roster Sheets is for the tournament judges, and the other is for your opponent to consult. If you don't have them ready, you can make them when you register for the tournament.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING:
… your SAGA dice and d6 dice, measuring sticks or ruler, fatigue tokens, rulebook with your faction in it, your completed roster sheets, and of course, your Warband.
RULES:
Unless specifically over-ruled in this document, or by the judges on the day, the rules as defined in SAGA The Crescent & the Cross rulebook will be used. This is effectively the same as the SAGA Dark Ages rules plus errata.
PAIRINGS:
After the first round, Swiss Pairing format will be used to determine opponents and pairings will be based on results, however, we will try to arrange that players will meet each other only once, regardless of relative rankings.
For the first round, players will be paired randomly. Note that, for the first round only and as far as possible, players using warbands from SAGA The Crescent & the Cross will be randomly paired with other players using warbands from this book.
PRIZES:
We will be awarding prizes and trophies for First Place, Second Place, and Best Painted/Modeled Warband. Prizes generously donated by Cotton Jim Flags.
ADDITIONAL RULES FOR ALL SCENARIOS:
A player immediately loses the game if at the start of their turn, their Warband does not generate any SAGA Dice, and the game ends immediately.
Scoring is carried out as per the scenario descriptions in the relevant rulebook. However, any player who scores at least 8 more Victory Points than his opponent has won a Crushing Victory and will earn 6 points for the Match rather than the usual 5 points.
Games will be on a 48'' x 36" battle area. Scenery will be pre-placed by judges.
