Hello, I recently made a post about getting started with ancients, now I'm curious about how to find opponents My "local" shop where people play is a good 2 hours from my home. I don't mind a drive, but I'd rather find some ancients players closer to my location.
Is there a website other than here that can be used to find other wargamers? |

A lot depends on where you are and which rule set you are looking at I think, as most of them have there own little forums etc. . Your local ish game store may be one place to at least start from. Where are you, then others more knowledgeable here can direct you better? |

I live in Northwest Ohio currently. I don't have a collection of models yet, and don't know what rules I want to play. I know the DBx family of rules is popular. I played a game of FOG with a guy named Tom down in Columbus area recently, and that was fun. I'm up for any rules and can build my collection around what the people I play with use. |

Put a message on TMP here. "Looking for players in the NW Ohio area." Then go to this TMP page TMP link and search by county in Ohio. You may want to take out a Supporting Membership if you find ant SMs to send a PM too. It works. You may think you are the only local, but odds are you aren't. Good luck |

Decabalus, You should check of HMGS Great Lakes website. They host mini-cons in Maumee, OH, which is right outside of Toledo. Their website should have a calendar listing of events. Coming to one of the mini-cons may be a great way to get introduced to members, some who live in the NW Ohio area. |

If you base your 10mm or 15mm figures on 20mm x 40mm as a standard for infantry then you will be able to play many rule sets. Also look into Hail Caesar. |
