Hi, Planning on putting together a Brit SYW force to oppose my French, and will be using Baccus 6mm figs. I'm wondering, as there's no dedicated Hanoverian codes, what to use? Brits, or one of the German (austrian / prussian) codes? I can't be the only person to run into this kind of problem – any ideas out there? FMB |

I have a collection of Heroics and Ros. For the Hannoverian/British I used the Prussian Infantry. You can see the results here: link |

Use the Brit figures. They are good proxies in most cases. There might be minor issues, but not enough to worry about, especially in 6mm. I wouldn't use Prussians for this purpose if Brits are available. |

I would also use the Brits – I have Brits and Hanovarians in 28mm and given how similar they look I think at 6mm you are good |

I have 15 mm syw. The differences between Hanoverians and British are very slight, so in 6 mm the British figures will be fine. |

Right – thanks gang. Hessians I guess are more likely to be based on Prussians? FMB |

Yes, the troops from Hesse-Kassel used a Prussian style uniform, while the Hanoverians used a British style uiform since they "shared" a king. This is probably the best on-line site for SYW uniform information: link Jim |

The Kronoskaf entries on the minor states generally indicate whether the uniforms were Prussian or Austrian style. A brilliant resource in many ways. |
