Incredible sculpting, moulding, animation, definition, casting, proportions etc etc. So you can be sure they are 1/72 and from Germany I assume, without yet following the link (I will) Begs the Q…why cannot we do this consistently in TOTS (The One True Scale)? To me 1/72 is Airfix French Artillery…in plastic. Then we see figures like this …in metal…..with sword belts cast like that, braid on the Dolman etc…….. Kids these days. They do not know they are born. EEH, in my day, we had it rough, our dad, 'e'd come in't door and ….. |

Franznaps are much better IMHO link Sorry Liam, the OTS has a way to go yet… Mind you, I have two batteries of French Airfix artillery, and they serve with honour. Not the best, but not bad either. And I have in the list of projects the British RHA, surely one of the finest Nap sets made, especially when considering its age. |

Franznaps gunners are outstanding – must be the best in any scale – at least that I know of. |

Glad you liked then vW – I often fear 1/72 gets overlooked by the praise for ABs and Perrys, but I always think good figures are good figures. I love what you do with ABs, so would be interested in seeing you try out some of Francesco's work. |

I don't overlook 1 / 72 scale at all – I agree good figures are good figures and Francescos' are one of the very best. |

I must agree with von Winterfeldt. Franznaps figures are great ones. I have them all in my collection too. |

And the Franznap gunners come in two teams of 8 different gunners a piece – so 16 different poses. Not often one gets that much choice for gun crews… I saw a comment from Liam about gunners being incorrectly placed, and I know I have done that because if there are only four poses, it looks odd if everyone is in the same place (even though correct). But Francesco provides enough choices to not have that problem. So I wasn't knocking these, as much as suggesting the alternative was better for a reason. |
