Hi all, I am attending the con for the first time at Fredericksburg, and planning to sell off some of my collection at the flea market. Can someone tell me about the logistics of doing this? For example: 1. Is there a place to unload? 2. How far is it from unloading to the actual Wally's Basement location? 3. Are there carts available? Or should I bring one? (I'll have several large containers full of stuff, so just carrying it around isn't an option) 4. How big are the tables themselves? 5. I Have a table for both sessions on Saturday. Can I leave my stuff at the location in between sessions or do I have to completely repack at end of first session, then set up again at next session? All answers, along with any other tips, etc. will be MOST appreciated! Many Thanks! |

You can pull around back to unload. First park in back and then go in to see flea market organizers to locate your table. Tables are 8 footers you will need to bring your own hand truck. Check with organizers but there should be no problem leaving your stuff out between sessions. I am not on HMGS staff but usually do flea market table once a year |

Someone on an earlier thread said you could also come in from the parking lot through the hall, though that's a longer walk. If you're coming Thursday or Friday, you can check it out first,of course. Haven't been to a con in several years (coming this time--yay!), but in the past, you were assigned the same table for both sessions; I can't imagine that's changed. One bit of advice: keep an eye on your cart or hand truck. They have a tendency to wander off when somebody "assumes" they belong to the facility. I don't mind lending mine--as long as I'm asked, first! Usually best to put it back in your vehicle, anyway, because of tightness of table spacing. |

Terrement, there is certainly enough stuff in the Saturday PM session to justify a trip, and the market Sunday morning can be fairly spectacular. But I repeat my standard warning: if you need a particular casting or unit, going to the flea market is like drawing to fill an inside straight. Advertise here or buy new: flea market savings won't pay mileage on the car. Take a bunch of money and see what you find. Somewhere there's something you didn't know you needed. |

Sunday morning is when,IMHO,the best deals can be obtained,as since its free, and alot of marketers dont want to take the stuff home, theyre more flexible. At least thats been my experience. |

As for me,unless someone doesn't show up,Sunday is all I'm getting. Lots of history books, some D&D manuals, and some mostly military SF,if I have room. |
