Lovely Piers, one day I hop you do a brief 'how to' guide regarding the colours used and application style. I tend to use the 3 colour came, but compared to yours, mine are over done – a sort of bit factory new – just how do you get that aged look?

Thanks Norm

That looks excellent. Very inspirational. Wow!

So here is a question – can weathering be overdone? IIRC, most tanks had a rather short life span. Of course they will vary depending on local conditions (mud, dust, etc.)

The model looks outstanding, as does all your work. :-)

Defo… Its very easy to over weather a tank. Rust especially and I tend to avoid it except on exhaust where I get my rust fix…

To be honest, I think I over did this one…

Superb as usual Piers.
Thanks for sharing your work!

Looks like a real workhorse to me, Pz III's were worked hard,

I like a well weathered finish myself even though it may not be as realistic as all that – it looks right.

Also – if you go overly subtle the effect will be lost on the tabletop 3-4 feet away.

German tanks just don't look right without a lot of dents, dust, dirt and detritus.

By contrast the Soviets and US/UK&C tanks can get away looking cleaner though not pristine. Battlefields are dirty places and if it's not wet [leading to rust] it's dry and you will have dust.

Another really nice job. Always like the PzIIIL – pity they're not more numerous or more effective in games.
